Demonstration cleaning with waste collection machines by project
The village of Kapitanovtsi is one of the four settlements on the territory of the Municipality of Vidin, where demonstration cleaning of contaminated territories was carried out with the help of the two waste collection and disposal machines purchased under the project “Prevention and mitigation of the consequences of man-made cross-border disasters in the Vidin-Zajecar region”. It is implemented under INTERREG-IPA Bulgaria-Serbia Program 2014-2020. The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality Ventsi Paskov, the Mayor of village of Kapitanovtsi Desislava Venelinova, representatives of civil organizations, residents of the village. “This is part of the project’s activities. In this way, people will be better informed and ready to cope with the challenges they face. The aim is to attract people from different ages and target groups to the ecological, clean and safe way of life” Paskov said. He reminded that besides the main investment of Vidin Municipality for the project – delivery of 2 waste collection machines for domestic waste disposal for the needs of the Municipality, there was also an exchange of experience for employees and a detailed study on the cross-border impact of newly formed pollution and zones of and expressed its satisfaction with the successful partnership between the municipalities of Vidin and Zajecar, stressing that the implementation of this project, which is already at its finale, will bring important benefits to both neighbouring regions.
Desislava Venelinova thanked the Municipality of Vidin for the realizing of the project which allows the villages to clean such areas and to maintain better order and cleanliness.
The other three villages, where demonstration cleaning is planned, are Botevo, Novoseltsi and Sinagovtsi.
The value of the grant contract under the project “Prevention and mitigation of the consequences of man-made cross-border disasters in the Vidin-Zajecar region” is a total of 547 711.82 euros, with a duration of 24 months (23.11.2016-22.11.2018).
